Switch is a filter holder that works with the 82mm main adapter which is included in the following NiSi kits: V6/V5PRO/V5. (If you are a NiSi user you can just order the Switch as an additional filter holder for your photography).

It is an integrated design with aluminium alloy construction CNC. It is not only lightweight (101g), but also solid.

NiSi Switch is a filter holder which allows two slots to be rotated together or independently from each other.

It is designed for photographers who need graduated ND filters positioned at different angles. The filter holder is well suited for complex lighting situations.

NiSi Switch not only allows for 360 degrees rotation, but also comes with a locking screw. All slots can be rotated easily and smoothly. There is no vignetting at 16mm on a full frame camera.

NiSi already offers round CPL/Landscape CPLs sized to be used with the 82mm adapter. Further, NiSi will also launch circular ND 3 stops/6stops/10stops/15stops which are of the same size as the CPL and which therefore can be used on the 82mm main adapter.

This means that photographers can use this system in the following way: 2 Square filters+1 round filter something which again equals: 2 GNDS+CPL/ND or 1 GND+1 square ND+CPL.

(The text above is from the press release written by Ray Wang and I)

We will now have a look at some before and after images captured at Rondane National Park, Norway. I shot the images with filters first before I removed all filters. It took only a few seconds to remove the Nisi Switch filter holder + cpl so that conditions are equal for the compared images.

Please note that by adding a Dark Reader to your browser you can view the images on a dark background.

The soon about to set sun is positioned to the right.

Without filters:

With Nisi Switch: Two GND + cpl

What I in particular notice here is how differently the light is distributed across the scene.

How the filters were positioned:

The next set of images is a sunrise and the sun is to the left.

Without filters:

With Nisi Switch: 2 GND + cpl

The image speaks for itself.

How the filters were positioned:

The filters are very smooth to insert. Moving the two filter slots is easy and effortless, and most importantly, the slots hold their position.

Nisi Switch: 2 GND + cpl

In action:

  • GND = Graduated neutral density filter
  • ND = Neutral density filter
  • CPL = Circular polarizer
